"A Member Driven Organization"

Everyone is welcome please join us!

Great Article on how our parrots’ help people with PTSD & Depression. Click on the bird.

For now, we ask that members/attendees leave their parrots at home. Quarantine Rules are in place for your parrots’ safety. Airborne diseases are not visible. If you take your parrot out, be aware.

What To do in the event the inevitable happens and you are no longer able to care for your pet! Click on the Bird to read article.

There are many people who claim to be rescue organizations. We find out about these rescues. DO NOT adopt from them If a) They wont give you their phone #. b) seems like they don't quarantine c) ask for a high payment and worse. If you are not sure, please contact us. We have a lot of information and do not wish to disparage anyone publicly.

WHY JOIN THE AFA (American Federation of Aviculture)

If you believe you are an "average" parrot owner, and that the AFA is not for you, then what you don't know can truly hurt you. The AFA is working tirelessly to have parrot species de-listed from the ESA (Endangered Species Act), that we are protecting YOUR right to continue to own the birds they already have, that we educate, work for conservation of species in native habitats, and that we have a great magazine, a fun filled and educational conference and a disaster relief program that is particularly helpful to us locally should a hurricane hit here. That's just the tip of the iceberg. AFA is our way to remain unified in the face of crazy Animal Rights groups and the greater our numbers, the louder our voice. Visit www.afabirds.org now.

Chanel Mullins

Club President
Chanel is taking over for Elise as President. Chanel has the enthusiasm to continue the message of education and conservation and (hopefully) will draw in younger members. She is knowledgeable, friendly and we all welcome her. She hails from California and lives with her Husband Ronald and Rio, her Goffins Cockatoo. She has worked wonders with Rio as he has some special needs. She recently added Leroux, a Greenwing Macaw to her home. He is already thriving under her tutelage as will all of us! Welcome, Chanel!

Elise hails from NY, has been involved with parrots for the better of 22 years. She is very knowledgeable and was COO of a corporation for over 25 years. She has many skills and also owns the Classy Parrot (classyparrot.com) where she specializes in helping people feed their parrots the best diet they can. Her goal is to bring education to all people who choose to share their home with a parrot for a successful outcome. Elise has moved on at the end of 2016 to another State but will stay involved with PSPB.
